In 2009, the Higher Education Academy funded 11 synthesis projects under its Enhancing Learning Through Technology work, covering various topics in e-Learning.
These were:
- Computer aided assessment of Mathematics: a review and current “state of the art" (Christopher Sangwin, University of Birmingham)
- Assessment Enhanced through the use of Technology (Alice Szwelnik, Oxford Brookes University)
- Digital Storytelling (Martin Jenkins, University of Gloucestershire)
- Supporting Inquiry-based Learning with Digital Technologies (Phil Levy, University of Sheffield)
- Write-on: The development of skills in using learning technologies to support and assess academic writing development (Jennie Jones, University of Brighton)
- Dealing with plagiarism in the digital age (Jo Badge, University of Leicester). Final report.
- How can technology be used to improve the learner experience at points of transition? (Becka Currant, University of Bradford)
- Engaging academics in professional development for technology-enhanced learning (Mira Vogel, Goldsmiths)
- Lecturer experiences of e-learning design (Lynne Jump, University of Greenwich)
- The positioning of Educational Technologists in enhancing the student experience (Tom Browne, University of Exeter). A Cloudscape has been created for this at http://cloudworks.ac.uk/index.php/cloudscape/view/1872.
