Who looks at EvidenceNet?
EvidenceNet is used by a wide audience across the HE sector, from educational developers and those with a specific remit for learning and teaching to policy makers and individual academics. The purpose of EvidenceNet is to make accessing the broad evidence base on learning and teaching as easy as possible for as many people as possible.

Is it peer-reviewed?
No, EvidenceNet contains a wide range of material from the less formal to rigorously peer-reviewed articles from leading journals. By including content from a range of sources, EvidenceNet allows users to access the whole spectrum of outputs from the learning and teaching community.
EvidenceNet aims to be a user community, so rather than the Academy or external reviewers controlling the quality of content, we have enabled an Amazon-style star rating system so that users can indicate how useful they find each resource. As EvidenceNet develops we will add a ‘write a review’ function to allow more nuanced exploration of the implications of its resources.

Is EvidenceNet open to everyone?
Yes – EvidenceNet is a free, open-access resource. The only exception is any content that is on restricted websites such as Informaworld, which you would need to access through your institutional log-in as usual or pay the appropriate fee to the publisher. Restricted resources display a locked icon on the results page so that you know you will have to log in before clicking on the resource. EvidenceNet displays the abstract, and links to the abstract page of that article, where you should be able to sign in to your account directly.

- submit multiple resources using a spreadsheet

What if I don’t want to give you my material?
EvidenceNet does not take any material from you, but links to its URL on your website. If you want us to house your content on our database so that you can still share and publish content if you don’t have a website of your own, however, we are happy to do so.

Can’t I just give you the URL of my website to link to?
No – EvidenceNet is a searchable database that returns individual items to the user, rather than providing links to other websites. We would only link to an entire website if it was included as a Network – a project or group that users can become involved with to explore evidence.
